The suspect had been under surveillance by security agencies due to his involvement in criminal activities in the general areas of Barikin Ladi, Riyom, and Mangu local government areas of the state.

The Nigerian Army stated that its troops have undertaken a series of well-coordinated operations that have yielded significant progress in the fight against terrorism.

During these operations, a number of terrorists were neutralized, while others chose to surrender to the troops.

Additionally, the troops were able to recover explosives, weapons, ammunition, and stolen cattle.
