Hon Wale Hammed has stressed the need to fund medical research institutions in order to Combat Future Unforeseen Novel Medical Challenges.
The lawmaker noted that due to the global increase in viral outbreaks like Lassa fever, Ebola and coronavirus, it is crucial to increase financial support for medical research to combat health challenges.
Hon Hammed Stated this during plenary on Thursday when he raised a motion which was adopted by the house.
The Green Chamber consequently mandated the committee on healthcare services and health institutions to investigate the state of Medical Research institutes in the country and report back within four (4) weeks for further legislative action.
