EET Releases Plans To Reduce Nigeria’s Current Hike In Price

The Economic Management Team’s Emergency Taskforce has mapped out plans necessary to boost urgent economic stability for Nigerians.
The proposed plan tagged “The accelerated stabilization and actualization plan” was presented to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, Abuja by the Honorable Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr. Wale Edun.
As part of EET’s major responsibility to restore the stability, growth, and confidence of the nation’s economy, the management enlisted Agriculture, Energy, Support to businesses, Health, and Social welfare and Macro-fiscal alignment as the key sectors necessary to boost urgent economic stability for Nigerians.
Participants from the federal government, state government, and advocacy groups such as the Manufacturing Association of Nigeria and the Nigeria Economic Summit Group were present at the meeting to ensure a collaborative approach to execute the proposed plan.
During the presentation of the plan, the Minister of Finance Wale Edun, said the purpose of the plan was to reduce the impact of price increases on families, farmers, and businesses in line with the priorities of President Tinubu’s “Renewed Hope” agenda.
“The EET, has proposed an emergency package to Mr. President and the presidential Economic Co-ordination Council- The Accelerated Stabilization and Actualization plan which will provide an accelerated response originated from the aforementioned committees” he added.
The Minister also said that the impact of the stabilization plan would be bolstered with an executive order developed by the presidential committee on Fiscal Policy And Tax Reforms to stem inflation, support employment, and promote non-oil exports.
Mr. Wale Edun expressed optimism in the plan to restore economic stability, promote growth, and improve the overall well-being of Nigerians.
