Independent Petroleum Marketers in Nigeria (IPMAN) expect the Dangote Petroleum Refinery to price its Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) at about N600 to N650 per litre once it starts operations.
Currently, the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) sells petrol to marketers at N570 per litre, while many IPMAN members are buying from private depots at over N700 per liter.
IPMAN has discussed potential partnerships with Dangote refinery officials and remains hopeful about the upcoming supply.
However, there are concerns that the final price could exceed expectations due to the refinery’s reliance on imported crude oil, affecting production costs.
The chairman of IPMAN stressed that the ultimate price will depend on crude oil costs at the time of purchase, leaving uncertainty until distribution begins.
