President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is set to swear in Justice Kudirat Kekere-Edun as the new Chief Justice of Nigeria today.
This transition follows the retirement of Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, who has concluded a distinguished career in the judiciary.
In a statement by presidential spokesman Ajuri Ngelale, it was highlighted that Justice Ariwoola’s career included notable roles as a Justice of the Court of Appeal in Kaduna, Enugu, and Lagos before his elevation to the Supreme Court in 2011.
He was appointed Chief Justice of Nigeria in 2022.
President Tinubu acknowledged Justice Ariwoola’s impactful leadership and contributions to Nigerian jurisprudence, expressing gratitude for his service and wishing him the best in his future endeavors.
