President Bola Tinubu has announced the appointments of Mohammed Mohammed as the new Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA) and Adeola Ajayi as the new head of the Department of State Services (DSS).
These changes come in the wake of the resignations of the previous NIA and DSS chiefs, Ahmed Rufai Abubakar and Yusuf Bichi.
Mohammed, who has been with the NIA since 1995 and served as head of the Nigerian mission to Libya, will now lead the agency.
Ajayi, a veteran of the DSS with experience as State Director in multiple states, will take charge of the service.
The President expects these new leaders to drive significant reforms and improve coordination with other security agencies and the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA).
He also thanked the outgoing Directors-General for their service and wished them success in their future endeavors.
