As part of its ongoing humanitarian efforts, the United Arab Emirates has deployed an aircraft carrying 50 tonnes of food supplies to Nigeria.
This aid is intended to alleviate the suffering of those affected by the recent floods that have devastated various regions across the country.
Recent severe flooding in Nigeria, caused by heavy rainfall, has resulted in extensive damage to infrastructure and the displacement of thousands of individuals.
The floods have impacted several states, including key agricultural areas, leading to a critical shortage of food resources and an urgent need for humanitarian assistance.
His Excellency Salem Al Shamsi, UAE Ambassador to Nigeria, emphasized the UAE’s dedication to supporting nations in crisis.
“The aid dispatched reflects the UAE’s commitment to strengthen humanitarian cooperation with the global community and assist countries during emergencies.
“This initiative aims to alleviate the suffering of flood-affected Nigerians and provide essential support to help them navigate this challenging time,” said His Excellency.
The UAE remains steadfast in its mission to offer humanitarian and relief aid worldwide, upholding the values of solidarity and support for those in need during natural disasters.
