President Tinubu Postpones 2025 Budget Presentation To National Assembly

President Bola Tinubu has postponed the presentation of the N47.9 trillion 2025 budget to a joint session of the National Assembly, originally scheduled for Tuesday, December 17.

The new date for the budget presentation is Wednesday, December 18.

An official statement from the presidency is expected to address the change in schedule.

The rescheduling follows an earlier announcement by Senate President Godswill Akpabio during Thursday’s plenary.

Akpabio had previously confirmed that the president planned to present the 2025 budget to the National Assembly on December 17.

He had stated, “The president has made his intention known to the National Assembly to present the 2025 budget to the joint Assembly of the National Assembly on the 17th of December, 2024.”

The Senate President also mentioned that the presentation would take place in the House of Representatives Chamber and that plenary would begin at 10:30 am, allowing senators to gather in the Red Chamber before proceeding to the House of Representatives.

Additionally, it is important to recall that last month, President Tinubu submitted the Medium-Term Expenditure Framework and Fiscal Strategy Paper for 2025–2027 to both the Senate and the House of Representatives.
