Vice President Kashim Shettima has performed the lesser hajj (Umrah) at the Holy Mosque of Makkah (Masjid al-Haram) in Saudi Arabia, offering prayers for Nigeria’s peace, stability, and prosperity.
During his visit, VP Shettima beseeched divine intervention for the nation’s leadership, asking for guidance, wisdom, and patience for Nigeria’s leaders at all levels.
He prayed for peace to prevail in the country, invoking Allah’s blessings for social harmony and wisdom in governance.
The Vice President also expressed hope for tranquility and prosperity in the nation, stating, “Let there be peace, tranquility, and prosperity in our nation. This is our prayer, and Insha’ Allah, our prayers will be answered by Allah.”
VP Shettima’s scheduled meeting with the President of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) in Jeddah has been postponed to a later date.
He is expected to return to Nigeria tomorrow.
The Vice President had flown to Saudi Arabia from Dubai, where he represented President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the commissioning of a $315 million oil production and storage facility by Oriental Energy Limited (OERL).
