Bauchi State Governor Reshuffles Cabinet, Sacks Five Commissioners

Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has reshuffled his cabinet, removing five commissioners as part of efforts to enhance governance and improve service delivery in the state.

A press release issued on Tuesday by the Governor’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mukhtar Gidado, stated that the reshuffling is aimed at reinvigorating governance and ensuring optimal service to the people of Bauchi State.

The statement noted, “In that respect, five commissioners were dropped. This move reflects the administration’s commitment to injecting new ideas and energy into governance, in line with the governor’s vision of strengthening the machinery of government and addressing emerging challenges effectively.”

The affected commissioners include:

Jamila Dahiru, Commissioner of Education
Abdulhameed Bununu, Commissioner of Internal Security and Home Affairs Usman Danturaki, Commissioner of Information and Communication Madugu Yalams, Commissioner of Agriculture Yakubu Ibrahim, Commissioner of Religious Affairs and Societal Reorientation.

The governor expressed his appreciation for the outgoing commissioners, saying, “Governor Bala extends his gratitude to the outgoing commissioners for their dedication, service, and invaluable contributions to the growth and development of Bauchi State.

Their efforts have been instrumental in advancing key initiatives and policies of this administration.”

In addition to the reshuffle, the governor forwarded the names of five individuals to the State House of Assembly for security clearance and confirmation as new commissioners. The nominees are:

Babayo Tilde from Toro Local Government
Abdullahi Mohammed from Misau Local Government, Bala Lukshi from Dass Local Government, Usman Shehu from Shira Local Government, Iliyasu Gital from Tafawa Balewa Local Government, Titus Ketkukah from Tafawa Balewa Local Government,
Babayo Gabarin from Darazo Local Government, Lawal Rimin Zayam from Toro Local Government.

Gidado further emphasized the governor’s commitment, stating, “The governor is steadfast in his mission to deliver impactful development and improved welfare for all.”
