Donald Trump, accompanied by his family, arrived at a church in Washington, D.C., ahead of his inauguration scheduled for noon today.
Due to freezing temperatures and a wind chill of -13°C (9°F), the ceremony, typically held outdoors at the U.S. Capitol, has been moved indoors.
Following the oath of office, Trump will deliver an address to the nation.
In the evening, he is set to attend three inaugural balls. Meanwhile, outgoing President Joe Biden issued preemptive pardons for several individuals, including Dr. Anthony Fauci and Capitol riot officers who testified in investigations, in anticipation of potential legal challenges.
Ahead of his first day in office, Trump has promised a wave of executive orders, with reports suggesting he will sign up to 200 such actions.
