Tems Wins Best African Music Performance At The 67th Grammy Awards

Nigerian singer Temilade Openiyi, known professionally as Tems, has claimed the Best African Music Performance award at the 67th Grammy Awards.

She won the prestigious honor for her hit song “Love Me JeJe,” defeating fellow nominees including Yemi Alade’s “Tomorrow,” Asake and Wizkid’s “MMS,” Chris Brown featuring Davido and Lojay’s “Sensational,” and Burna Boy’s “Higher.”

This marks Tems’ second Grammy victory, further solidifying her position as one of the leading voices in African music. South Africa’s Tyla won the award in 2024 with her hit “Water,” making this category’s second edition one to remember.

In addition to her win, Tems received three nominations at this year’s Grammy ceremony, bringing her total career nominations to eight.

She was also nominated for Best Global Music Album for Born in the Wild and Best R&B Song for “Burning.”

The 67th Grammy Awards took place at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on Sunday, celebrating outstanding global musical achievements.
