Abuja Residents Protest Against Power Outage

Residents of Pegi Community in Kuje Local Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) staged a protest at the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) office in Wuse, Abuja, on Thursday, demanding an end to their prolonged power outage.

Led by Dr. Okoli Ugo Thompson, a local landlord, the residents expressed frustration over being without electricity for over three months.

They cited growing security concerns, with kidnappers exploiting the lack of power to target the community.

The outage, they said, has not only disrupted daily life but has also left them vulnerable to criminal activities.
