Dada Yar’adua, Mother Of Late Former Nigerian President Umaru Yar’adua, Dies at 102

Dada Yar’adua, the revered matriarch of the Yar’adua family and mother of former President Umaru Yar’adua, has passed away at the age of 102.

She died on Monday evening at the Federal Teaching Hospital in Katsina State.

Known for raising significant figures in Nigerian politics—including her son Umaru, a former President and two-time governor of Katsina State; Shehu, a former Chief of Staff, Supreme Headquarters, under President Olusegun Obasanjo’s military regime; and Abdulaziz, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Army.

Dada Yar’adua’s death has prompted an outpouring of prayers and condolences from across the nation.
