The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) charged the former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Godwin Emefiele on Wednesday.
The charge against the ex-governor is for authorizing the production of N684.5 million for N18.96 billion.
Mr Emefiele pleaded not guilty to the four charges during his arraignment before Justice Maryann Anenih at the FCT High Court in Abuja.
Amongst the four charges brought against him, the EFCC has accused Emefiele of deliberately disregarding legal instructions with the aim of harming the public while carrying out the naira swap policy under the past administration of President Muhammadu Buhari.
The anti-corruption agency also alleged that Emefiele improperly authorized the withdrawal of N124.8 billion from the Consolidated Revenue Fund of the Federation.
After the hearing, the former Central Bank Governor was granted another N300 million bail.
