The federal government has welcomed a fleet of over sixty hybrid commercial buses from Jet Motor Company as part of the presidential CNG initiative aimed at improving transportation in Nigeria.

The handover ceremony took place on Wednesday at Jet Motor’s manufacturing plant in Ajah, Lagos.

These new Jet Mover buses are equipped to run on both compressed natural gas (CNG) and premium motor spirit (PMS).

The vehicles were delivered to officials from the Ministry of Finance and representatives from the Presidential CNG Initiative.

Dimas Hamidu, Technical Assistant to the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, commended the high quality of the buses and Jet Motor’s adherence to contract specifications.

Hamidu highlighted that the timely delivery of these vehicles reflects President Bola Tinubu’s administration’s commitment to easing the effects of fuel subsidy removal.

“This is why the ministry of finance decided to tour the factories and their facilities to see how soon they can deliver.

“ we are impressed with jet motor for sticking to the contract terms, and the vehicles are in accordance with specifications without compliants” he said.

He expressed optimism that the new buses will address the transportation needs of Nigerians and praised the company for its efficient delivery and high standards.

He added “ I am happy with what I have seen here. This will go a long way in alleviating the pain and suffering of the people with the removal of fuel subsidies.

“I was here earlier with the honorable minister of finance , and we were taken around the plant. The minister even drove one of the vehicle and was very impressed”

Speaking at the event, Managing Director of Jet Motor Company, Derek Ewelukwa, expressed his gratitude to the team for the chance to help deliver an efficient and comfortable transport model to the nation’s citizens.
