Ekiti State Governor Mr. Biodun Oyebanji has approved a new work-from-home policy for civil servants to help mitigate the impact of the current economic climate on workers.
Starting Monday, September 9, 2024, the policy will see officers on levels 01-07 working from home three days a week, those on levels 08-12 two days a week, and officers on levels 13-17 one day a week.
Essential workers, such as teachers, core health personnel, and security staff, will be exempt from this arrangement.
The Special Adviser on Media to the Governor, Mr. Yinka Oyebode, stated that each Ministry, Department, and Agency (MDA) is required to create a schedule to ensure that the work-from-home policy does not affect the quality of service delivery.
The new policy will be in effect for two months and will be reviewed periodically based on current conditions.
It does not impact existing state government measures, including monthly wage awards for workers and pensioners and the free bus service for workers and students.
The Oyebanji administration remains dedicated to improving workers’ welfare and productivity through various supportive measures.
