The decomposing body of Justice Azuka, a member of the Anambra State House of Assembly, has been discovered on the 2nd Niger Bridge, weeks after he was kidnapped.
Azuka, who represented Onitsha North Constituency 1, was abducted on December 24, 2024, along Ugwunabankpa Road, Inland Town, Onitsha.
His body was found by a combined security team after extensive investigations.
Security operatives from Abuja apprehended several suspects late Wednesday.
The arrested individuals later guided the authorities to the location where they had dumped Azuka’s remains.
Anambra State police authorities confirmed the discovery, though details of the incident remain unclear.
Police spokesman Tochukwu Ikenga said, “Police operatives had been deployed to the scene,” adding that “further details would be made known to the public in due time.”
This incident marks the second kidnapping and murder of a sitting Anambra lawmaker in recent years.
In 2022, Okey Okoye, also known as “Okey Di Ok” from Aguata, was abducted, beheaded, and his body later found around the Nnobi axis of the state.
