The Honourable Minister of State for Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande has commenced plans to collaborate with the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) to derive inclusive digital skill acquisition for Nigerian Youth starting with the NYSC programme.
The recent development was made known at a meeting between the Minister and NITDA executives in Abuja On Thursday.
The Minister assured NITDA of his commitment to facilitate the pilot phase of the #Digital4All initiative across the country, starting with NYSC Orientation Camps nationwide which according to him “Is an excellent place to commence the Initiative’s implementation.”
Director General of NITDA, Kashifu Inuwa, also revealed the Agency’s strategic commitment to aid the achievement of the Renewed Hope Agenda in the Information and Technology space through inclusion, Diversification, increased productivity and human capacity building.
The NITDA Boss showed optimism in achieving the agency’s goals by presenting an action plan developed by the agency to attain 70% Digital Literacy by 2027 and the impending launch of the Digital for All (D4All) initiative.
Prior to the new Development, the Office of the Honourable Minister of State and Youth Development has ramped up significant partnership and collaborations with various public and private institutions to support value driven, youth oriented programmes for young people across Nigeria in various sectors.
The Minister’s office is also credited with the launching the pilot phase of the Nigerian Youth Academy – an online platform dedicated to acquisition of knowledge and learning for youths.
