Plateau State To Become Center For Medical Tourism -Governor

The Governor of Plateau State, Caleb Mutfwang has stated that his administration intends to establish Plateau State as a center for medical tourism in Nigeria.
The Governor stated this during a courtesy visit by members of the House of Representatives Committee on Health Institutions, on Monday at the Old Government House Rayfield.
In his address, Governor Mutfwang stressed that the hospitable conditions and favorable climate of citizens of Plateau State are important elements in making his administration’s plans a reality.
The Governor also pledged his commitment to establishing additional Teaching Hospitals to enhance doctor-to-patient ratios.
While speaking on the nationwide issues of healthcare professionals seeking opportunities abroad, Governor Mutfwang advocated an increase in funding for health institutions in the state to enhance standards of healthcare within Plateau State and the nation at large.
He expressed dissatisfaction and regretted the bureaucratic hurdles delaying the launching of the dental department at the Jos University Teaching Hospitals (JUTH), and called for immediate action to address the situation.
Governor Mutfwang said proper allocation and utilization of funds specifically for underfunded institutions like JUTH must be ensured as he outlined the importance of oversight functions by the National Assembly.
Mutfwang also received some important figures in the state.
They include the Commandant of Police Staff College Jos, AIG Adebowale William; the Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps NSCDC, David Abi, and the State Commissioner of Police, Emmanuel Adesina.
The guests pledged their support to Governor Mutfwang’s administration in promoting peace, security, and unity in the state.
Governor Mutfwang expressed his gratitude for their commitment to safeguarding the state and encouraged them in their collective efforts to fight against criminals and terrorism in the state.
