The sudden death of Iranian President, Ebrahim Raisi who was said to have died in a helicopter crash on Sunday in North Western Iran has continued to spark so many reactions from world leaders across the globe.
The tragic incident has sparked massive reactions as world leaders expressed their condolences and regrets about the disturbing situation.
Tinubu expresses his condolence
In a statement signed by the spokesman for the President, Ajuri Ngelale, the President extended his condolences to Iran and its people over the tragic incident.
“President Bola Tinubu extends his condolences to the government and the people of the Islamic Republic of Iran over the passing of President Ebrahim Raisi, Hossein Amir- Abdollahian and other Iranian officials in a helicopter crash” The statement read.
“President Tinubu expresses profound grief over this disturbing tragedy, and describes President Raisi as a leader who was passionately committed to the development of Iran.”
Egyptian President Prays for Iran.
President of Egypt, Abdel Fattah el- Sisi “prays that the deceased Iranian President and the departed may rest in His Almighty’s Mercy, and grant their families patience and solace, expressing the solidarity of the Arab Republic of Egypt with the Iranian Leadership and people in this terrible incident.”
Syrian President refers to the incident as a “Great Loss”.
Syrian President Bashar al-Assad also expresses deep regret over the great loss. Al-Assad referred to the tragic incident as “a great loss” and he applauded his efforts to”ensure that the strategic relations between Syria and Iran remain always prosperous”.
In his words “We will always remember his visit to Syria as an important milestone in this path, and all the visions and ideas that he presented to enrich relations with everything that benefits the Syrians and Iranian peoples”.
China has lost a good friend- China’s President.
China’s President Xi Jinping also condoles with Iran and regrets that China has lost a good friend.
According to him Raisi has contributed greatly to peace and stability and played a crucial role in consolidating the China-Iran strategic partnership.
“His unfortunate passing is a big loss for the Iranian people and China has lost a good friend, the Chinese people cherish the friendship between China and Iran. China will continue to deepen and develop this partnership. China has shown great concern for the incident and pledged to support Iran in whatever way necessary”.
“Turkey will stand by Iran”. Recep Tayyip
Recep Tayyip, Turkish President has also pledged his support in these trying moments and said Turkey will stand by Iran.
“As Turkiye, we will stand by our neighbor Iran in these difficult and sad times as we have done many times,” he said in a post on X.
3 Days Mourning- Lebanon’s Prime Minister
Prime Minister of Lebanon, Najib Makati has also declared 3 days of mourning.”During the mourning period, flags will fly at half mast at all public administrations, institutions, and municipalities” The NNA News Agency reported.
