President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has announced the appointment of Adeola Oluwatosin Ajayi as the new Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS).
This announcement was made by the Special Adviser to the President on Media & Publicity, Chief Ajuri Ngelale, in a statement released on Monday.
Mr. Ajayi takes over from Yusuf Magaji Bichi, who was appointed by ex-President Muhammadu Buhari in 2018.
The newly appointed DSS Director-General, Adeola Ajayi, has a distinguished career within the Service, having risen through the ranks to become the Assistant Director-General.
He has served as State Director in Bauchi, Enugu, Bayelsa, Rivers, and Kogi at various points in his career.
President Tinubu has high expectations for the new security chiefs, urging them to diligently reposition the intelligence agencies for improved results.
He also charges them to utilize their experience to address the country’s security challenges through enhanced collaboration with other agencies and in alignment with the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA).
Additionally, the President expressed gratitude to the outgoing Directors-General of the DSS for their service to the nation and wished them success in their future endeavors.
