Planned Protest: Several Groups Back Out From Demonstration

In Just 48 hours before the planned nationwide protest against hunger and poor governance, several groups have announced their withdrawal from the demonstration.

The Arewa Citizens Action for Good Leadership (ACAGL) and 23 other participating organizations have decided to pull out.

Spokesperson for the Kano chapter of ACAGL, Saeed Sulaiman, cited potential risks, vulnerabilities, and consequences of participating in the protest as reasons for their decision.

He emphasized the importance of maintaining peace and stability in Kano State and the broader northern region.

Additionally, the Nigerian Youth Parliament has urged young people to reconsider the protest and instead engage in dialogue to address their grievances.

Speaker of the Parliament,Azeezat Yishawu, issued this appeal in a press statement yesterday.
