JUST IN: Reps Set To Donate N704.91 Million From Half-Year Salaries To Tinubu

The House of Representatives announced plans on Thursday to submit a proposal to President Tinubu for the allocation of N704.91 million to support vulnerable Nigerians who are facing economic hardship due to the removal of the fuel subsidy, scheduled for December 31, 2024.

This initiative follows the House’s previous commitment, made on July 18, to cut 50% of its members’ salaries for six months.

The move, adopted through a motion during a plenary session, is aimed at alleviating the difficulties faced by ordinary Nigerians in the wake of the economic reforms, including the subsidy removal.
