Senate President Warns Nigerians About Fake Senate Loan

The Senate President, Godswill Akpabio through his spokesperson, Hon. Eseme Eyiboh has told nigerians that the senate is not operating any loan programme or palliative in conjuction with CBN or any agency.

The Senate President was reacting to a fake information that was posted on Facebook with the handle, ‘Templeshort’ titled “N200,000 Palliative Loan By the Senate,” and features an image of Senator Akpabio alongside the coat of arms and the logo of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).

Senator Akpabio advised members of the public to pay no attention to the post as it did not originate from the Office of the President of the Senate but the work of fraudsters and unscrupulous individuals seeking to exploit unsuspecting Nigerians.

“Senator Godswill Akpabio is not collaborating with the CBN or any other financial institution on any loan facility as a form of palliative,” Hon Eyiboh said.

Hon Eyiboh urged the general public to exercise caution and be vigilant in the face of criminal elements who employ deceitful methods to target unsuspecting Nigerians and to report any suspicious activities to the appropriate authorities.
